Presidential Scholar is one of the highest national honors for high school students in the United States, awarded by the U.S. Department of Education to recognize outstanding academic achievement, standardized test performance, or excellence in the arts and career/technical education.

History and Significance
Established in 1964, the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program identifies a very small group of the most accomplished graduating high school seniors each year. It is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious academic honors in the United States.
