USA Physics Olympiad (USAPhO) is one of the most prestigious high school physics competitions in the United States. It is part of the selection process for the U.S. Physics Team that competes in the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO), organized by the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT).

History and Significance
The USAPhO is an advanced, proof-based physics exam designed for the top-performing students from the USA Physics Olympiad Qualifying Exam (USAPhO Qualifier). It assesses deep conceptual understanding and problem-solving ability in classical mechanics, electricity and magnetism, thermodynamics, waves, and modern physics. High scorers are invited to intensive training camps to select the final U.S. Physics Team.
